How do I import the avatars supplied, I can't see regular file system entries that I can replace so I'm assuming I can use a switch somehow.

Can anyone advise please

I'm not sure what you mean. The avatars that come as extras with the game are meant to be used as avatars on the GOG forums. (They aren't meant to replace any game files in Wing Commander, if that's what you mean.)

You can change your forum avatar by clicking 'My account' and then going to the 'Account & Settings' page.
