Hi all,

Sorry for the delay on this update but rest assured we hope there won't be any more undue delays. We have uploaded a new installer that will update your Windforge install to version 1.1.8820. Please download this new instaler at your earliest convenience in order to have the latest and greatest version of the game :)

Here's what's changed for version 1.1.8820:

Fixed the driftstone platform and driftstone supports recipe spawning.
Fixed an enemy spawning error.
Added a dev mode that will be used to unlock some functionality that
will be helpful for modding and cheating.
Fixed a bug that was preventing the players name from getting saved
properly.
Fixed a problem with the life meter in the character stats screen.
Fixed a problem that was causing blocks to disappear when placing
objects that cause grid resizing. (the bug where blocks would disappear
when placing propellers).
Fixed the problem with the giant kraken corpses disappearing after you
kill them.
Fixed bug where the meat beater achievement wouldn't be awarded with
master craft or quality sausages.
Made it so poison and other similar effects will be cleared when you die.

Thanks and have a nice day :)
+Whales move at a useful speed!
+Story progression is fixed!
-Physics freeze bug still there. This is where you freeze in midair for several seconds and then suddenly drop like a stone.
-Story failed to reflect how hideously overleveled I was what with having the MASTERCRAFT VIBROKNIFE, DEMOLISHED SEVERAL TEMPLES AND CLAIMED THEIR SECRETS, AND HAD FULL STATS.

ALONG WITH A TOTAL ARMOR RATING OF 369.125 WHAT WITH HAVING PILFERED MASTERCRAFT SOC STEEL PLATE ARMOR, IRON PLATE SOC GAUNTLETS, QUALITY TITANIUM ARMOR GREAVES, IRON PLATE SOC BOOTS, AND TO TOP IT OFF, A MASTER CRAFT RUBBER TITANIUM EXPLORATION HELMET. TEN OF YOUR TABLETS I HOLD IN MINE HAND. AT LEAST 6, I GOT OUT OF SHEER WANT.

Ahem. All I'm trying to say is that the method used to try and detain my character would have proven laughably ineffective. Maybe change it to something that wouldn't just bounce off the faceplate of an incredibly expensive gas mask or wouldn't be ineffective.

Lemme think...gases and powders are out, and after some thought, the best excuse while keeping the story status quo would of course be to cheat and use Atherkin tech on the player. Otherwise, the simple fact is, I have a double barrel shotgun that I've taken down several bosses with, AND a Vibroknife.

-Issuing things though developer mode is clunky and unintuitive...mostly. LUA is simple, but having to change the file every time you want a new item isn't.

-The bug where you can get pushed right though several solid objects still exists.

-I'm still seeing double Karen, despite the fact I should be seeing 0 Karen at this point.

Fun.

Trying a new game from the beginning:

I forgot how limited one's Mobility was. How annoying. With one halfway decent weapon taking over other ships isn't too difficult if you have your finger to spam on the healing/food slot.

Getting attacked by a huge/legendary basilisk is annoying, but workable.

Game crashes still, mostly on inventory items (moving a few magnums in bulk, or trying to move a tablet to the item stash); Specifically why it crashes I'm not sure; But always when in bulk/rightclick, not manually. How odd.

The music sounds better, but I'm not sure if it's just because I haven't played it in 6 months.

Regen/healing (100 Vitality) seems really fast, 3 a second or so. I think it was sped up vs before, but I am not sure.

I'll have to post further experiences/findings as I go, I'm about to get kidnapped by the SOC (so 1/3rd through the game again).

Minor bugs: (new/old? I don't know)
When getting the ship fully repaired at the docs, shadows aren't always properly represented (repairing over them will fix it).

When you save after you've been spotted by the boss of a level, if you reload he no longer knows you exist. Good for if you wanted to explore more, but doesn't take much to set him off after you again.

Still very slow after you've explored a decent area of the map. Needs to be multi-threaded.

edit: About ready to go to the under world area. I've built a mining ship (very tall) and it's pretty effective, been able to product a lot of stone that I sold off for a tidy profit while also collecting Titanium, and other materials. Add a back wall, an air purifier, and I'll see how it works below as that's my next objective, to go to 3 different temples, as well as mine Adamantium.

And I'll probably need to make a survival suit for being down below too... Better do that first...

edit2: Finished the game for the second time. So...

Mining in the regular area is fine, and fast. Adamantium takes forever to break apart, but with a large enough rig the extra time doesn't really matter.

The game is a LOT more stable when the BIG.FILE is extracted, but it holds some 15,000 files... 3 of which are thumb.db files that don't need to be there (I think).

Giant Krakens leave bodies behind, but unlike their large basilisk counterparts they don't have a life fragment. Could be a bug.

All in all it's a good update from what I can tell...

Oh reminds me, came across some absolutely HUGE buildings, temple level of huge. Although they are mostly empty space, they were interesting to explore.

Going over the files from the BIG.FILE, it appears there's only a few select areas that are pre-generated (like the towns), the first temple, and Chapter 2 (the mine and getting back to the town for the first time). I know I've seen some of the same areas as my GF, so I'm not sure what it uses to randomly generate the areas, but some of them are the same. Perhaps it's a 16bit seed...

Even though this is probably the last patch does anyone else get stuttering and crashing issues on the larger temples still? I extracted the files with the python program and it is true that it helps the stability of the game some but the large temples are still a nightmare for me.
Steam got version 1.1.9813 couple weeks ago. No gameplay changes or bug fixes listed, just improved mod support.
Version 1.1.9813 Released!
6. June - Snowed In Studios
We have now made it a lot easier to create and use Mods in Windforge. There is a data extractor packaged with the game now that will give you complete access to all of the game’s data. We’ve also changed things so that your changed files will take priority over the ones in our data files. This will allow you to use mods by copying files to your data folder.
Still no update... Hmmm...
