Darvond: Right then. Now that the patch is here, a few thoughts:
I didn't get an update notification, instead I just happened to look at the game and saw the current patch. For a moment I thought perhaps we somehow missed it the last month....
So...
New ship types to fight are nice. It doesn't really change my strategy: I board it, shoot them, strip the ship and leave... A few new items of high value (
barrels of oil, that is if i didn't already have $730k or more).
Not sure i can give the full patch/balance a review since i would have to start a new game and well... i don't feel like spending that much time going through everything a second time. (
3 days was too much)

As for ships and monsters, if you ignore them for something like 20 seconds they disappear regardless how close/far away they were. Spawning/unspawning seems to follow this overall.
As for losing ships, try adding a spare zeppelin balloon to a ship (
or any balloon), i've seen a ship i thought i was going to gut and lost due to falling through the screen was still there when i returned. Probably when you add something of your own to it, it no longer disappears on screen change.
Also as for the random houses... Too many of them are the same (
between two different games). This means the world
was procedurally generated at one time, than modified (
probably to add caves, interiors, pots, etc). I'm guessing they are all pregenerated and randomly placed during a new game. However there's enough areas that you are unlikely to explore them all completely.

edit: WTF!! I go and hunt the really giant Kraken and they don't leave a body behind! They are like phantoms! I consider that a huge bug!!! I wanna hunt giant Squid!!!!
