For my personal use I converted some pictures from the Wasteland Weekend Festival to 512*512 res ,png files, so they can be used as custom character portraits in Wasteland 2.

http://imgur.com/a/S0SFS#0

To use them place them in,

Documents\My Games\Wasteland2\Custom Portraits (Win7)

My Documents\My Games\Wasteland2\Custom Portraits (Winxp)

If you don't have a Custom Portraits folder yet you need to create one.

Edit:

Directors Cut Version Installpath

..Documents\My Games\Wasteland2DC\Custom Portraits (Windows)

Linux location: ~/.config/Wasteland2/Custom Portraits or DC ~/.config/Wasteland2DC/Custom Portraits
Thanks to MackieStingray for providing this information.

Unfortunately 't know the path for MacOS,

Have fun.

These are great pix!
You sir, are a badass.
Freaking Awesome!

I also did a character portrait for myself before the game released so I didn't really get a lot of different characters but this is one I did of myself.

Thanks guys and nice picture Skullbone, which is a perfect name for a Wasteland character.

On the Wasteland Weekend website you find a lot more pictures and some videos of this annual event.
In case you want to do your own portraits package.
I was planing to use some of the video footage for a second character portraits pack, but I will wait after this year event to include that material too.
My party consists of post-apocalyptic dominatrices:

These are fantastic, thanks for the tip!
Black Cloud Studios makers of the upcoming P-A RPG 'After Reset' (also a Kickstarter project), made a set of character portraits for W2, using art from AR.

I like the guy with the pac-man arm... that's nuts. They all could use some more grim on the costumes but I don't blame them them not going that route. Smelly clothes are not fun to wear.

Form this collection my favorite is right the first picture of the guy with with military garrison cap. He looks for me like an archetype of a desert ranger, considering their army engineer background.
How he pined his service ribbons on his cap and then stuck a dollar bill behind it and his Aviator shades. I love it. (Funny. There are actually Aviator shades in the game as an wearable trinket :) ) And of course he is already bearing a plasma gun, so the perfect picture for my energy weapons expert.

But you're right that crazy raider dude is my other big favorite. The spikes attached to his skull, the bull ring, holding a custom made pneumatic cutter. He would make me run. Screw it. Get outta my way. :)

I thought I give it a bump for new players to see.

Answered in a support thread by Steam user Spongeroberto Squarepantalones. Just verified it myself.

* To those quite new, ~ refers to your home directory.
For the Director's Cut version the new installationpath is.

..Documents\My Games\Wasteland2DC\Custom Portraits

Mac install path:
~/Documents/Library/Application Support/Wasteland2DC/Custom Portraits

Seems a bit weird. Normally this should be at
~/Library/Application Support
or
/Library/Application Support
