Am running Kubuntu with an XFCE GUI, 1k RAM, FireGL V3100 video card. Probably irrelevant?
When I run the patch in Wine, I get the following error:

Runtime Error (at 18:1647):

Access violation at address 7D728ADC in module 'gdiplus.dll'. Read of address 001B6F64.
Looking the matter up online, I'm instructed to try /nogui. Worked for installing Wasteland and other GOG stuff. Here, though, wine patch_wasteland_2.0.1.6.exe /nogui simply gives me the same error. (I double-checked. Exactly the same.)
Any suggestions?

Edit: Just double-checked; same syntax works fine for wine setup_wasteland_2.0.0.5.exe /nogui

Install Winetricks.
In a terminal, type winetricks gdiplus
It'll probably require a manual download and saving/moving the file to a folder the script opens automatically. If so, repeat.
Seems that helps a lot with GOG stuff, even where /nogui does not.

A blue, samurai or ninja updater, recently mentioned that /nogui doesn't work with how they package the patches. Forget where I saw it though.
Indeed, seems not. Thanks.
