To begin with MS Security Essentials block installation via your website because of the file type, when I attempt to run from your site. When I save it to disc and run it, it installs flawlessly.
The game will not start. It crashes after the screen turns black, then it goes back to normal. I've tried to manipulate the compatibility modes, but none work with it. It fails identically every time.

Looking at other posts, it doesn't bode well for you. The poster here suggests the same problem, and they only managed to fix it by hacking the game back to an earlier patch and cracking it.

However some suggestions: Obviously there's the standard update all your graphics drivers stuff. Then perhaps try and get your desktop resolution into as close a state as the games default as possible. Drop the resolution to something like 1024x1068, etc. Generally try to mimic the old graphics settings.

Someone else suggested you need to have a sound card connected and active, but most people have one now in onboard sound.

Try installing to somewhere other than program files. For some users it causes all sorts of problems installing there.

I'll add anything else if I think of it. Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks...
I've already tried all the compatability stuff... I've contacted support and am awaiting a response... in the meantime, I'll try your resolution suggestion (that was a last effort kinda' thing 4 me, because it jumbles up my icons)... and yep, I already have sound built in...

Resolution appears 2B the ticket. I decreased the resolution, which is so horribly sad, and picked xpsp3 compatability. It started and I get up to the pick a scenario screen before it crashes again.

Now, I'm wondering, R there any patches 4 WBC3 (verified working patches)???
My version of WBC3 says, 'File version: 1.0.3.24 and Product version: 1.0.0.0...
Am I up-to-date or do I need a patch???

Thanks again 4 the quick response earlier... shalom...

I believe that 1.0.3.24 is the last official patch.

There's a site creating mods that still seems quite active. I haven't tried it myself. http://www.warlordsforever.ca/
