Is it by any means possibly to transform the gog 1.3.24 Version to an older Version? I really don't like that the necromancer is totally useless while playing undead. I don't know since which patch there has been a timelimit for the skeletons. Even if u upgrade them they will die after a short while.

They could as well completely deleted the Necromancer and the undead race. It's one of the hardest races to play anyway and know all u can do is play a undead merchant, cause the neromancer has been castrated.

Back up Herodata.xcr file in C:/My Documents/WarlordsBattlecryIII folder (rename it HeroDataold.xcr

Unzip Version103fix into the C:/Program Files/Enlight/WarlordsBattlecryIII folder
Run the run from the Battlecry IIIb.exe file and the game should work. Basically the version is 1.03 with more hero portraits(You can even add your own ones in the custom slots using an XCR editor)

Thank you very much for releasing this for all of us who don't like multiplayer balancing changes to a single-player game :)

This patch removes all the balancing changes made by the unofficial patch that is pre-installed on GOG's Warlords 3 Battlecry version. This thread should get a sticky.

It takes away all the balance changes like summoned units only lasting for a short while and leaves the game like the developers made it except for the bugs being fixed. It also adds some support for mods the developer made and some new portraits which is not of the same style as in the game. I think you can just skip the step about overwriting the portraits file and you will not get any additional portraits.

I've scanned the file with my Anti-Virus scanner but it is a bit outdated so feel free to do so yourself too.

been wanting to play WBC3, but did not want to play a version that had the nerfs in it. from what can tell, the digital version without the fan-made patch will not work correctly because of the DRM removal (that's why the number generator is bugged, hence why items/spells are wonky). the disc-based version works 100% fine with just official patches, however, the game is very hard to find for a decent price (it goes for $30+ used, which, is too much for a used game, let alone a 8 year old game).

so, with this patch, none of the classes are nerfed (like the Necromancer's summons?), and the number generator works (items wont be the same thing over and over and spells wont miss all the time?). does the patch need to be "installed", or is it just a modified .exe thats just placed in the game's folder?

also, do not see why GoG just didn't fix the game themselves and insisted on using a botched fan-made patch with nerfs. who really plays a 8+ year old RTS online anymore, and competitively?

well, anyway, since the game's on sale, wanted to get it. but just want some assurance on the matter.

which is cool. I made this patch so people playing my MOD could still play 1.03 when they felt like it.

I'm having some trouble with the mod, I've followed the instructions but when I start a game I can't see any units, they are there for me to order around (green circles and such) I just can't see their graphics.. That's not limited to units seems like trees and even the boat on the first map are gone.. Any idea how to fix this?

I don't have it installed to the default folder, think that might have anything to do with it?

On a side note I tried PMing you but I only got taken to the "My Account" section.

EDIT: Nevermind, solved it by setting it to compability setting for Windows XP and playing it as an administator. (Running windows 7)

I am so glad I found this thread from another link. Why can't this version be the EXE included in the GOG version?

This really does deserve to be stickied.
