I just purchased Warlords Battlecry 3 and it doesn't run very smoothly on my Windows 7 machine. I played the game before under XP and it ran much smoother. The graphics settings don't seem to make much of a difference.
I am running Win 7 x64, 8GB RAM, i7-860 with a Radeon 5850.
Any ideas?

I remember playing this on XP too, ran much smoother than on my current Win7 x64 rig, so I'm also looking for solutions. Anyone?

hi guys im playing it on XP it plays normal no doubts, but i think you need a patch to run it on 7

Try lowering your resolution. I played at 1280x1024 when the performance errors occured, but going to a lower res sped up the game considerably.

ok i found the way to run the program, ok now i bought the game off gamestop.com so it ran a downlaoder, so now i got the installer or the .exe file, now right click on it and go to properties , compability and click on run in xp mode and run as administrator, apply and install it it worked for me ill make a video on it u can email me if it dont work, email me at

It seems to be some kind of bug, try to activate the Command Radius with the 'R' key, that made the game go smooth for me.

I had the same problem on Win7 x86, in game with lots of units, hidden map and fog of war activated. I found this lucky solution by accident.

WB 3 can run on win7 64b and vista 64b.
it's simply install the game, donload patch v. 1.03
change your resolution lower than 1280x1024.
use compability setting to winXP SP3 and run it as administrator.
now game runs smoothly and without crashing.

I'm trying to run it on W7 x64 and I keep getting random crashes when I open the spell book, look at post battle stats, etc. They're rather random.

I'm running in XP comp mode and the 1024 resolution: none of that seems to fix it. Just bugged for Win 7 IMO. Not a smart move for the publisher, but I wish I could play it. I like the RPG element to it. Wish spells were easier to cast though....

Win7 x64 crashing solved

I didn't experience "performance" issues with Battlecry 1 so much as it just kept crashing. I tried messing with the resolution and the shadows no effect, kept crashing. I tried setting the compatibility for the executable to xp sp2 and to run as administrator no effect, kept crashing.

I uninstalled the game and I set the compatibility FOR ONLY the setup.exe AND NOT the battlecry.exe to xp sp2 and to run as administrator. I installed the game and it runs perfectly full resolution all shadows no crashing.

Wheeeee!!!!!
