For some reason healing spells and potions quit working on my level 30 dwarf monk as I was going through the campaign. The sound and the animation are still there, and the potions still cure poison, I just don't gain any hit points. I know that they used to work and I'm not sure exactly when they stopped. Haven't tested this on other characters yet. I'm not very computer savvy and any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem inexplicably stopped a few days later...very weird.
Healing does not work for me either. Battlecry III Fey Paladin.
Animations and sounds work ok, but no health is ever restored. Mass healing, Major healing. None of these work at all!
Potions don't restore health either!
Cure removes poison, but does not restore any health either!

I have played the game before with these working, so the version on gog seems to be old/unpatched!
Also the version I had before had icons for poison/awe/fear etc. with information on hover. This one doesn't.

Healing for me does not work at all. No matter the class or the unit (paladin, healer, ..., unicorn, white mage, ...)
Potions don't work too.
This is a periodic bug that crops up in Battlecry 3 (only, as far as I know). No healing items or spells have any effect. Reloading a saved game will not fix it, nor (usually) will quitting the game and starting it up again.

The solution - and it's crazy - is to reboot your PC.

I have no explanation, I don't know what weird TSR thing is "hung" that causes this very specific problem. But the fix is 100% effective in my experience - and I encounter this bug roughly every 50 hours of gameplay. Very annoying before you notice it - you're timing your heal potions carefully, nothing happens, hero dies. Much cursing ensues.

Afaik there seems to be two different things that cause this bug, or there are two different bugs with the same symptoms. Someone reported on the Steam WBC forums that this bug occurs after playing on the Wastes campaign location with any healing spell classes (and maybe even healing items) and any Minotaur hero, so that might at least be one of the causes (no idea exactly what is doing it though).
There are all manner of weird attempted fixes on this. Rebooting, Uninstall/Reinstall, Exporting/Importing Characters using a 3rd party program & removing the WBC3 directory in Docs, Regedits, etc.

None of these worked for me on the Win8.1 machine I'm on currently. There may be some stuff in the hidden user directories, but the issue corrected for me when I reset the campaign and fought my way through to the seers.

This was with a level 30 Knight Paladin.
