Have this game in Steam but after I've changed processor to R9 5950X game starts to crash on launch.
Frow what I've read - game works poorly with all the processors that have more than 8 cores and requires additional things to do:
For the Ryzen series you need to install official util soft: Ryzen Master and enable legacy mode. From what I've found it prevents processor to use some new commands and allows old games work better (or work at least).
For the intel afaik there is a patch on the github wich resolves this problem as well.

TL; DR;
As this is a GoG release, are there any patch which allows running the game without additional black magic on highend precessors which uses more than 8 cores?

There is a fix for it here:

https://github.com/maximumgame/DOW2CoreFix

Maybe Gog could add it in a patch? (It being open source and all)

OT: I think Gog should look at adding open source fixes for games that clearly break on high end CPUs.
Like Space Marine etc.. There are similar fixes for those as well.

So basically this fix is not included in a gog version as well as in steam version?

For the AMD users link to Ryzen Master: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/ryzen-master
This will help not only with DoW2 but with space marine as well (potentially with other good old games too).
All you need is enable legacy support and reboot you PC. Should not affect general performance.
