catpower1980: After a few hours of playing (haven't reached level 6 yet), I've noticed a few things which could help:
Like Rogue Legacy, you have a roll of characters (re-roll if needed) but if you 've followed some speedrunners strategies on this game, you'll know thats it's best to only unlock/pay the abilities/traits that are useful so you have more chances of getting the character you want. Here are my favs so far:
Left Abilities (the "projectiles") : arrows are useful because you can shoot bosses from an upper platform (it goes down after some distance). Daggers and boomerang put you more into danger.
Right Abilities (the "specials") : "Shadow" is a good option only if your character has a natural very high damage output. The "Dwarf Turret" is great if you put it out of the boss's reach. "Open all" is like a cheat code and is very versatile ^o^
Traits : "Agility" is a must to navigate in the levels. and the trait which permanently increase damage is a good combination so you can dispatch enemies quicker.
Early game strategy : collect as much peace orbs as you can (leave the autoattack "on" for safety) and invest your first coins by leveling them in the hub so at every runs you'll have plenty of money to spend in the hub or in the levels and you'll play better by dodging enemies and thinking about alternative routes. Also, always begin from the first level, that's almost free keys/coins/xp without effort.
-------
I'll probably update it if I find some useful stuff in the later game. If you have other tips to share, feel free to reply ;)
Keymaster/Agile is a good one to unlock if you are looking to make pacifist runs as you start with 5 keys (5 are needed to skip the boss) and keys give you some HP, and I think you have an easier time getting keys, IIRC. I recommend doing 3 levels in a playthrough as a pacifist :) Make sure to turn off autoattack in the options menu :)
