How come? The games are great and I'm having lots of fun. I don't care if they stole the whole concept from Diablo 3, because here it's done right.
The game is great but the engine and optimization is a joke. Big, not funny at all, joke.

What do you mean?
Alright gentlemen. I need to give some of the honor back to the developers it seems. The game has big issues accepting GPU changes. You have to force the right GPU several times and pick compatibility with Windows 7/8 for it to work good. Also, advisable to run the game using correct exe files, not the shortcut on the desktop from the installation.
Huh. Because I'm running the (first, haven't tried the second) game just fine ATM from the desktop shortcut created after installation.
Forget it. Game runs like crap. Engine is crap. Can't get it past 30 FPS at all. Runs the same as on 635M GTX I used to have. Wasted time and money.
You're just pissed because you suck at the game.
Game is actually quite a fun and works pretty well from desktop shortcut and with way over 30 FPS. And I'm telling it as someone who is quite bored of the games the last year or so ;P

No idea what mighty spark of logic brought you to that conclusion. The game is poorly optimised for mobile GPUs in general. Not to mention issues with laptops running Optimus tech inside..pretty much every single one nowdays.

The game will not go higher than 30 +/- FPS. Turning off High Shaders does help but only until you make it to the first big wave of enemies.

Tried every trick in the book. Nothing seems to work.

And don't even try to tell me that mGPUs are weak in general and I should not expect better. Just spare me the nonsense please :P

Have fun, glad you enjoy it yourself, I did not.

The first game seems to work great on my ageing Core 2 Quad with 8GBs of RAM and a more modern GTX960 (£110 Graphics card). So I guess rather than moaning about how bad the games optimization is, you should get a real computer to play games on rather than a laptop or learn to live with PS4 console levels of performance. :-)

This just proves how proficient in computers you are my friend. I can run Battlefield 4 maxed out on 30+ in native resolution. How does BF4 compare to Van Helsing? Och did I mention I can play Witcher 3 without any issues as well? Hey but Van Helsing has the graphical fidelity of BF4 so I should get a PC instead of a laptop.

I thought you would share some sort of a solution but no, just bragging about how your PC handles a game better. If you do not have anything interesting to add just don't post. I am so tired of so called 'pc specialists' with stand alone rigs stating they alone have the power to run games, and we, laptop users, do not :P.

I am happy that your game runs like a charm and you can enjoy it :) Have fun. Just stop sharing your wisdom about game oprimisation. Do not bother answering as well. I won't be reading.

I suppose my only question is whether you've contacted GOG's support team to see if they can help you instead of giving up? I'm not trying to harass, I'm honestly curious, since they've managed to help me out of a few technical binds in the past.
VH1 works alright for me on a somewhat old laptop.

I like some of the innovations. Katarina has some fairly simple and streamlined options, Rage seems to work fairly well, and mages actually have to manage their mana a little.

Also, I don't believe in Diablo 3 clones. I think of ARPGs as Diablo 2 clones, because D3 is overproduced garbage that eventually got double ruined by adding level scaling to the mix. Diablo 1 was also pretty good on a smaller and older scale. D3's skill system was completely watered down. No character builds at all, just swap out your four skills and two passives at will. Level up one of each class and the rest is a matter of item collecting.

VH1, Torchlight 2, and Path of Exile are all much more faithful Diablo 2 successors than D3. The only thing D3 has is item collecting, and there isn't even any notion of build-item synergy to manage. New uniques don't make you want to start a new offbeat build. There's only, "this wand shoots exploding pigs at people, so kewl, I want to move to California too and hang with uguyz".
I am running this game (VH 1) on an dualcore 2x 2,2 and geforce gtx560 with 2gb of ram...
Settings on High and Rivatuner shows me 50 - 60 FPS... The engine runs perfect on my machine
(Witcher 3 Runs on medium -> high with 35-40 FPS)
