For VtMB, where do you put PC skins in the GOG version? I have tried with a few clans with little to no success. As an example, I have tried the following directories with no effect for the Malkavian clan:

.\Unofficial Patch\materials\models\character\pc\female\malkavian\armor0
.\Unofficial Patch\models\character\pc\female\malkavian\armor0
.\Vampire\materials\models\character\pc\female\malkavian\armor0
.\Vampire\models\character\pc\female\malkavian\armor0

Now, the gangrel files I loaded to .\Vampire\models\character\pc\female\gangrel\armor0 had some .vtx files and this made the model disappear entirely. My understanding is those are basically new bones for the character, which it must have found those files but didn't load the new skins for them. This at least showed some sort of change.

If I load tremere skins I download into .\Unofficial Patch\models\character\pc\female\tremere\armor0 I see some changes. There were three files I had to backup/replace from the Unofficial_Patch, so I'm guessing it was looking in this folder because of the patch, but the same directory structure doesn't seem to work for other clans.

Any information on where I am suppose to load new skins would be greatly appreciated, as it seem to be different than directions provided for other version of this game.

Thanks!

Okay, I could not figure out how to reply to my own question so I am editing it. I figured out some of the skins I had apparently didn't work for some reason. I tried other malk skins (malk skins appear to be the easiest to find) and found they seem to work if I place them in the following directory:

.\Unofficial Patch\materials\models\character\pc\female\malkavian\armor0 (some skins have an armor1-3 as well)

Now I just have to figure out how to mark this question as answered... :-)

[Edited to add more information.]

Skins are "materials" and should go in ".\Unofficial Patch\materials\models\..."

Only the files that change the actual models in some way go in ".\Unofficial Patch\models\..."

Also, in order to mark a question as answered, you first have to mark it as a question. This is done at the time you create the original post. There's a little checkbox.

I was wondering about the difference between the models and materials folder. As for the checkbox, I did mark this as a question, but since I figured out where to put them myself, I couldn't mark it solved. I had to wait for a response to mark it solved. Your answer provided additional information that helped me understand those folders, so I appreciate the info! Marked your answer as the solution, thanks Wolf!
