When I run the game it's a slideshow and is utterly unplayable. Anyone have any idea why?

PC Specs:

CPU i5 2500K @3.3ghz
GPU Radeon HD 7870xt
OS window 7 home premium
8GB ram

I recall reading that the game had trouble running on laptops with integrated graphics (which would explain why it exhibits similar issues on my setup; supposedly the developers are attempting to do something about this, though I'm not sure how progress has been so far), but that doesn't appear to be your issue, so maybe the issue is something different entirely.
