Dear developer guys, saying that's a release and then not having a full game in is just not cool.

I am not buying any sort of EA scam game anymore.

I have patiently waited to explore the full release of this game:
1) because I don't like to spoil content
2) because I got burned one too many times by modern unscrupulous devs doing blatant cash grabs and then leaving the title as soon as it's out (yes, I am looking at you right now, Necromunda)

Imagine my surprise when I open the game to find out there's still content missing, some temporary texts on the game launch screen "Hey, this is still WIP" and so on.

When can I expect the full game to be released before I click the refund button?

P.S. Now imagine boys, back in a day, when developers of old did not have the majestic leeway of the Internet - how they had to test and complete their games before those went out on tape and CD.

Depends what you're in to, a small dev team doesn't have the resources to complete a perfect game quickly like a AAA studio (Even then AAA titles are riddled with bugs). Look at a project like Starsector, 4 guys have been working on that game for nearly 10 years and it has a strong, supportive player base centered mostly around modding. Indy devs need to release the game at an opportune moment to be able to make some cash to keep going. Unless you want to live in a world where EA and Blizzard own everything and are shitting out pay to win mobile games this is the best option for most indy devs. Don't like it then don't buy the game.

Excuse me, you probably didn't read what I wrote before answering.
In the game offer, it says "release game", not EA anymore.
When I see the "EA" title I just won't buy it in the first place.

So if this game is still WIP, why I am, as a GOG customer, clickbaited into buying an unfinished product?
What is the actual release date for the complete released game?
Here's the development roadmap:

https://www.fig.co/campaigns/vagrus-the-riven-realms/milestones/176

As you can see, they're financing further development with what they get through game sales and Patreon donations (and other sources, I guess). Hence, the "earlier" release.

It has a lot of high-quality content already. I think it can be considered a full game, just not a huge one.
EDIT: I#m wrong it's already huge

That said, there's huge room for expansion and they certainly will add more content though it's question how many new cities they will feel able to add.

It's a full game's worth of content, even a single run through will take about the same length as an "average" RPG or more (yeah what people consider "average" varies which is why I'm not putting times in - that and I've barely scratched the surface of content so have no idea how long it will take me personally).

Yes there's stuff we all wish were included, because the map is kind of a tease (but IMO I like how they included the full map so we can get an idea of how the rest of the continent looks). Stuff will get released over the coming year or so. This is pretty common these days - a vaguely similar game, Sunless Sea, had stories added throughout the year after release, and it's not the only one.

Hey Folks,

just to throw in some details, those who have finished keep me honest here.
The game has over a million words worth of narrative and a good bit of random elements, so from what we hear from players is that reaching a winning condition takes about 100-130 hours, and of course, the game lets you continue on with stories leading to a 'finished' playthrough of 200-300 hours, and since there are many mutually exclusive story and faction choices seeing everything takes north of 500 hours.
Our most avid fans passed the 1000 hours already and still find fun but players who spent 50-80 hours also say they got their money's worth.
The game, of course, being a weird hybrid of strategy and narrative-heavy story-telling, not to mention rather hard, is not for everyone. (Dissonance mode offers a much more relaxed experience.)

We are a tiny team, self-publishing, and this is our very first game. We are proud and happy that we got this far and hope to continue improving the game with the help of our community.

Thanks, cheers,
The Lost Pilgrims Team
Yeah, after playing some more I have to edit my earlier comment, the game is already huge.
