I was wondering if there was any other way of increasing the font/text size other than changing the resolution. I remember the font was much larger when I played the game when it came out, it may have something to do with I used to have a non-HD monitor but any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Only method I know is the resolution change and personally it would surprise me if there were any other methods as Uplinks interface really isn't very flexible (unless someone used the source code to create an unofficial patch). It's most likely that the font was indeed larger on your past approach because of a low-res screen.

Well, that's a bit annoying. My monitor has tiny pixels, and the text is just the wrong side of teeny-weeny eyestrain-o-vision.

I'll have a look at the source code, but I'm not sanguine about the possibilities...

EDIT: A very quick look at the sources suggests that the fonts are hard-coded to particular faces and point sizes, and that the theme/skin artwork is created assuming this will never change (no HTML/CSS here, people). So even if you were to alter the executable to open fonts of different sizes, it would likely spill out of the UI boxes and frames. So, at first glance: Can't be done.

It might be possible to scale the bitmaps at runtime to compensate, but then those bitmaps would appear blurry (bleah).

Sorry by reviving the topic, but how one change the resolution of the game?

, don't care which resolution I uses for the display, the game load the same resolution with small fonts almost unreadeable.

What you do is click the options button on the main menu (looks like an hourglass), then you click the graphics options button (looks like an old CRT monitor). This should give you a list of all the different resolutions, and you can then pick one that's smaller.

Since you're likely on an LCD, try to pick a resolution that you can multiply by some integer to get your normal screen resolution - this should minimize the upscaling artifacts. Adjust as necessary.
