Hi folks,

just bought and installed Unreal 2 and I geht the following error:

Stack Dump (7 Calls)

Detail:

General protection fault!

History: GetEventTool <- GetMusicManager <- GetMusicScript <- DMCallRoutine <- AMusicScriptEvent::execCallRoutine <- UObject::execClassContext <- (IntroGameInfo CS_Intro.IntroGameInfo0 @ Function U2.U2GameInfo.NotifyLevelChangeEnd : 0075 line 775) <- UObject::ProcessEvent <- (IntroGameInfo CS_Intro.IntroGameInfo0, Function U2.U2GameInfo.NotifyLevelChangeEnd) <- UGameEngine::LoadMap <- LocalMapURL <- UGameEngine::Browse <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine

Build: Mar 14 2003 13:26:15

It's probably a system drivers' issue: try updating your video and sound drivers.

That said, you should put more information about your system to let people help you.

^ TL;DR Your computer doesn't natively support DirectMusic, so you need to run the file at the bottom of the above article. Extract the "DirectMusic Fix (64)" folder, then copy the System32 and SysWOW64 files to their appropriate locations. Then right-click and run the file DM_FIX.bat as Administrator. If it asks you if the ".\System32\backup" is a file or directory, it's a directory (D). Same with ".\SysWOW64\backup" ... It's a directory (D)...

You're welcome.

I still get the same error after applying the forementioned fix, I even intalled Win7 just to give it a try, same results. GoG Store page says it works on both Win7 & Win8 -_-

Anyone with a better fix?
