I played UT all the time back in the day and I'm so glad GOG has made it available for me to play under Windows 10! This game is legendary (series).

My question since I haven't played much in the way of First Person Shooters since this game I was wondering if there are any newer games like UT where you can play in an Arena "Frag" Mode against AI Bots? Like I said I've never played much in the way of FPS games since UT was king and am not familiar with other newly released series of games.

I was wondering if games like Call Of Duty or Tom Clancy's series games offer this? How about the latest release of Doom?

Do any of them have single-player non-online arena style versus AI Bots?

Let me start with this: most newer FPS games doesn't feature multiplayer bots at all, including CoD. Call of Duty and the other similar titles do nothing with the arena shooter feel, and mostly offers realistic combat experience (with some arcade touch).

There is of course the new Unreal Tournament which is the clone of the original UT with better graphics, and lacks all the features of UT2004 or UT3

There are also a lot of freeware games, and those have bot support too. Red Eclipse is an awesome arena shooter with a lot of options and completely unique gameplay amongst the genre other titles. Xonotic is a Quake clone game with a little modified arsenal but perfectly tweaked movement mechanism. World of Padman is a more a comedy than a serious arena shooter but feature all the elements and weapon loadout as those. Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch is an another type of arena shooter, and not really skill based, rather than having better weapons.

I suggest trying out Red Eclipse first. :)

Cool... I like your response! I wasn't sure about the newer FPS games and whether they supported single-player AI Bot competition like UT did... I wish they did if only for the purpose of practice makes perfect. Before going into a true online multi-player environment and making a fool of yourself being a newbie (Although, we've all been there).

Assaultcube is an arena shooter with bots.
Battlefield 2 had bots.

You're welcome. Actually I never play multiplayer games if it has no bot support. So the option is extremely important for me too.

Anyway Themken has right, AssaultCube is a simple but awesome game. To be exact it running on the same engine as Red Eclipse. There is also the basic Cube 1 and Cube 2 games, those are fun too.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 maybe?

You may want to dig into Doom 1/2 actually; there are some mods that take things way farther than you'd think. Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch is the only one I know of that has arena bot play though.

Alien Arena is another one though the actual multiplayer part seems dead or nearly so. It does have botmatch though.

If popularity and the multiplayer community matters then your best chance are the freeware and opensource games. Xonotic, Smokin' Guns, Open Arena and such games was started as a freeware equalivent of the Unreal and Quake games and most of those are still in development, patching this and that. You can even check the Wikipedia's page about the opensource games.
