Hi there. So, for the most part, Lazarus is working just fine, but there is one noticeable problem; that is, there's no map. Or rather, there is a map, but it's so messed up that it might as well not be a map. When clicking on the map from my inventory, I usually get a jumble of various images and recent character portraits instead of a map, and when I use tab to bring up the Megamap, all I get is a black screen. Also, I don't know if this is related to the map problem, but I don't seem to have a working compass. I've been getting by well enough without all of this, but it would be nice to have a better idea of just where I'm going and how to get there. Does anyone have any clue what the problem here is and how to fix it?
So, no-one has absolutely any idea what the problem is or ways to fix it? Because if any-one has even the faintest idea, I'd really like to know.
Never heard of that. I assume you've googled it? Have you installed any mods that might be interfering?

Yeah, I've googled it. I actually wound up at the Ultima VI Project forum, which has a Lazarus V section. There was someone there with a similar problem to mine, though no-one bothered to respond to it; the link's here, in case anyone's interested.

As for mods, maybe there's something interfering, but I doubt it; I started playing without mods, and I'm pretty sure I had this problem even then. Also, the dialogue sometimes gets blurry, and parts of the landscape lose their texture, though this is all fixed by bringing up the in-game menu. What isn't fixed are the maps, because I can't bring them up while I've got the in-game menu on, and trying to turn the menu on while I've got the maps up turns them off.

So now, I've got a sextant, but since the map still doesn't work, its' basically useless, and so I'm practically sailing blind. Can someone please help me out here? I'd like to actually know where I'm going, and it'd be a lot easier to figure that out if I had a working map. I know other people have had this issue, as it's been brought up elsewhere. (And never solved, far as I can tell, though hardly anyone responded to those topics, so who knows.) Does anyone have any idea how I can solve this? If so, please tell me.
You should still be able to get coordinates from the sextant, that should helping find some things. Combine it with the map (you can find it out online) and you'll be getting the real old school experience!
