The book of Justice, in essence, said look for a bird creature in the mountains northeast of town.

Using the in-game map of Britannia that pin marks your current position, I canvased the mountains northeast of town and found nothing. Is there a special trick to finding it or were maybe the direction given wrong?

I thought I'd ask for a hint before resorting to looking up a Let's Play Video.

Thanks!

the bird you are looking for is a very large vulture named Eustus. you will probably need to look a bit further east than you think you need to. have you found the ruins of Empath Abbey yet? Eustus is at the top of a mountain pretty much due south of Empath Abbey. i'm trying to remember exactly where the beginning of that trail is.....let me have a look and get back to you.

and while i am on the subject of Empath Abbey--there is a Blue Dragon hovering on an iceberg in the water to the north. if you think you are up to the task, you can kill it and then use ethereal sight to snag the frost sword--a pretty good weapon for use against creatures like deamons and hellhounds. PLUS it's a 1-handed weapon so it's right up your alley!!

I haven't found the ruins of Empath Abbey yet, I've basically just explored around the immediate Yew area. Thanks for the tip on the sword.

For Eustus and Empath Abbey, do I need to cross the bay? The mountains north east of Yew end at a bay, and on the other side of the bay are some pirate shipwreck stuff (that's as far as I went), and looking on the map across another bay are more mountains.
the area i am referring to is the snow-covered mountains to the northeast of Britain. there is a trail that comes up along the coast and curves around to the west. the point where the trail goes up into the mountains is approximately 30 degrees east and maybe 20 degrees north if you are looking at the map.

you shouldn't try to come up from the south though. there is a bridge that is broken and i never figured out a way to cross it. the first time i did it, i hiked southeast out of Yew and went up and over. there are signs and banners along the way to let you know that you are on the right path. i have a screenshot of where the trail starts up into the mountains and i will try to send it to you in a minute. i may have to send it in a chat message. there are probably other ways to get there but i can't think of them off the top of my head.

i am having trouble grabbing an acceptable screenshot and attaching it. X-O it looks like you may have to resort to a video. this is most annoying!!

Ok, thanks, I think those are the mountains I was suspecting when you said a lot farther east. I guess those are technically northeast of Yew, but jeez.

For screenshots in GOG, I think the only way I've been able to do it is post a Dropbox or Google drive link. Kind of a hassle.
well that's a pain!

anyway--back to the frost sword--if you don't want to fight the blue dragon, you can buy a frost sword in Buccaneers Den after you are done with Minoc/Sacrifice, but only if you didn't free the silver serpent. i can expand a bit more on this later. ;-)
i just went back to the northern trail-- take a path southeast out of yew. you will see signposts along the way saying "to Wrong"--there are several of them. you will eventually come to a fork in the trail that has a signpost pointing to Wrong but also a Banner of Justice. take that path with the banner to find Eustus.

this is so cool going back into the little cracks and crevices again! some of these places i haven't seen since my first journey!

Found 'em! Wow, yeah there are a lot of nooks and crannies up there!

I beat the dragon! He was roasting me pretty good at first but then for some reason he just stopped breathing fire at me and I hit him a few dozen times with my battleaxe. I thought I was going to have to use my glass sword. Maybe the game glitched.
awesome!! that's great news!! dragons drop good booty so it's always worth the effort. did you find the frost sword? that's a good weapon to have when fighting hellhounds. and the fire sword is good against icehounds!

I doubt it was a glitch. dragons are heavy duty so they require some serious exertion. i found the cloud of death to be useful in these situations. glass swords will also work but they are pretty rare so i like to save them until later in the game. speaking of glass swords--there is 1 in britain...... ;-)

Yes, I got the frost sword. I'm gonna keep the fire sword on my tool belt, in addition to the ice sword, cause I really like using it for light. I seem to recall hearing about a helm that produces light. Do you happen to know where that is, if it exists?
it does exist. it's called the crown of radiance and it's in the dungeon Covetous. you may want to consider keeping a decent helm on your head though because the "artifacts" don't give as much protection as proper armor. personally speaking, the only pieces i thought were truly useful were the swamp boots. here is a link that gives the details about the whole set....
