Is there a way to skip past NPC dialog if you've heard it before?

I ask because I just watched a few minutes of a Let's Play video for New Magnicia because I can't find the promontory, and I swear the player cut Katrina off mid-sentence, as though there was a key or click to skip the current spiel she was saying.

Thanks.

Just click, can't remember if the mouse has to on the text on the text or not. Besides that, it is that simple though.
i can't think of anything either. i have had to re-do conversations before because i missed a crucial piece of information. it's not too awful. just bite the bullet and restart the conversation.

in this particular case, katrina wants to tell you where the promontory is. you can find it without her telling you. having her tell you just makes another entry in your journal. the journal entry is not critical to progress in the game.

as a matter of fact, it's actually really easy to get to the promontory without too much fuss. i discovered (through honest game play--no cheats) that as long as the surface isn't totally 90 degrees/perpendicular, you can slide down almost any hill! remember--slide. don't try to jump!!

I swear I tried that before and it didn't work, but tried again at your suggestion and now it works every time :-)

Thanks!

Thanks. I eventually found the promontory. My difficulty was she said it's near the beach northwest of her house....except the promontory is actually northeast of her house. Presumably a dialog error. It's the first significant one I've encountered so I'm still having fun :-)

oh yeah--that's another tidbit i forgot about. dopey me!!

i'm glad you are enjoying it. the game was pretty buggy when it was released because they were rushed putting it together by the company. they patched it as best they could but, as you see, there are still a few things that they missed. that being said--it's still pretty fun!

you will want to keep that in mind when you get to moonglow. i encountered a bug that was pretty aggravating but once i got past it everything was cool. i can explain later.

Yeah, I've heard the horror stories about what U9 was like after release! So far with all the patches (except dialog and economy) it's been pretty smooth for me.

Thanks for the general heads up about Moonglow. Once/if I see something wonky I'll be sure to ask.
