So I have found a few addressing this yet none work. This is a Win 8.1 machine 64 bit version.
I have seen that it must be done editing the DosBoxUltima7.conf file. I opened it with notepad++ and here is MY ending at the very bottom if someone could copy and edit that or tell me what needs to be added to enable the F2 console I would appreciate it.
(the following is the default end lines of the notepad .conf file)
[dos]
# xms: Enable XMS support.
# ems: Enable EMS support.
# umb: Enable UMB support.
# keyboardlayout: Language code of the keyboard layout (or none).
xms=false
ems=false
umb=false
keyboardlayout=auto
[ipx]
# ipx -- Enable ipx over UDP/IP emulation.
ipx=false
