When I try to use the gog graphic mode setup exe and click save changes, it says "Error: game not installed." How do I fix this? (alternatively, where in the dosbox conf do I have to edit to not be in fullscreen?) It does this with all the games I've downloaded (Which are all ultima ones, hence my asking here)

My second question is about the fan patch adding music to Ultima IV. Doing so causes the game's speed to increase, make all the animations move really fast. Manually lowering the cycles also slowed down the music. Is there any way to have the music and not have it be super fast?

1. You must run graphics mode setup from the start menu shortcut, not from the file manager directly. To disable fullscreen, edit dosboxULTIMA4.conf (or something), change line
fullscreen=true to fullscreen=false. The file is on Installation dir

2. Fanmade patch includes frame limiter. Personally I play Ultima IV with 5000 cycles, frame limiter on. Press ALT+F to toggle frame limiter

Where is the default location of the start menu shortcut? I never use those things, so I didn't pay attention if it said in the installer.

And where exactly am I supposed to press alt+f? I tried it in the game itself but it did nothing.

When you install GOG version of Ultima IV, it will create Launchers to your Start menu (or what that thing is called on Windows Vista), the Windows-logo button on lower right corner?

ALT-F should work during game everywhere. If not, I am just wondering if you are using same patch as I am. I am using one from

http://www.moongates.com/u4/upgrade/Upgrade.htm

with that patch, you will also get the VGA graphics.

Edit. There is also Pix's ultima patcher, which may be easier way to patch Ultima IV. I haven't test it though.

I guess the frame limiter is only included in the VGA patch. I was using the alternate EGA tileset with separate music patch, not the VGA one.
