Hi all

I've just installed Ultima IV through gog and started a new game then pressed 'Q' to save and quit then alt+esc to close window.

I'm obviously being silly but I can't now find the save file only the option to install again.

Could some kind person point me in the right direction please?

Not sure if I understand it right - you want to know save file location or how to load a save?

If you save your game in Ultima IV, the save is distributed among several files:
PARTY.SAV
OUTMONST.SAV
MONSTERS.SAV
DNGMAP.SAV

The files are usually in the game's directory, but depending on your Windows version and your installation location, they might also be in a subfolder of C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\
Use Windows's search there to find it (include hidden files and folders).

If the game isn't saving and loading correctly, run the game explicitly as Admin, by right-clicking the game's shortcut and select Run as..

How embarrassing.

I didn't even see the icon on my desktop. I just assumed it was a java web based game so was looking for the save on the web site.
