do the rings wear off/disappear after a while? also what does the amulet of turning do?

Do rings wear off? Yes they do. Do amulets wear off? No they don't. What does an Amulet of Turning do? No one knows. What does an Ankh Amulet do? No one knows. What does a Spiked Collar "amulet" do? It increases your armour value by 2. What does a Ring of Invisibility do? Makes you invisible until it runs out. What does a Ring of Protection do? Increases your armour value by 2 until it runs out. What does a Ring of Regeneration do? Heals you very slowly over time until it runs out.

If I recall correctly (and am not mixing up my games) I believe that the Amulet of Turning was supposed to help defense against missiles.
