Hi, there,

I'm rather new to the GoG community, for I only come here to download the occasional old DOS game and that's it. I am a Thimbleweed Park backer and downloaded and installed my copy on launch day (which went flawlessly, great job!) and have been playing for over 15 hours so far and loving every minute of it.

I have a question though. I haven't encountered any of the critical issues mentioned so far (I'm still in the chapter "The Will," having decoded the will, but still looking to get it read), and everything is going smoothly and I am wary of changing anything. I tend not to install updates for their own sake so I am especially ultra-cautious when I've invested so much time and effort into my game already. I am on Mac OS X 10.8 (yeah, you see, I don't like to update anything if what I have works).

So... should update my Thimbleweed Park installation to the latest version? It seems I could take advantage of a few fixes and minor improvements, but I'm concerned it may break my game progress. It also looks like a complete re-installation on the Mac instead of just a patch. Is it safe?

Thank you,

-dZ.

P.S. Did I say how much I love this game? I've been playing it with my wife and although she's not really an adventure gamer, we're both laughing and enjoying it together. :)

Installing the updated version is a good idea. It does fix a few obscure bugs (which you'll probably never see). It won't affect your saved games.

Thank you, Mr. Fox, for taking the time to respond personally. It is indeed an honour.

I've been trying to update the game since then and it fails. I first tried by downloading the newer version and trying to install it. Later, prompted by others here, I installed GoG Galaxy. Either way, the update still doesn't work.

This doesn't seem to be a Thimbleweed Park problem but a GoG issue, so you're team is off the hook. :) I do appreciate the assistance.

The game is fantastic and I am enjoying it immensely. I hope I can resolve this issue so that I may take full advantage of the latest fixes.

Regards,
