Hi guys,

there seems to be a conflict in some video codec or something video related in between Thief 2 and Inquisitor. It is caused by the "LGVID.AX" file. It is installed and registered with Thief 2.

This file conflicts with Inquisitor and renders it unplayable, and having Inquisitor installed seems to make Thief 2 unplayable. At least the vanilla version.

Has anyone any information on this or is it necessary to uninstall one game in order to play the other?

Yeah, I know. I posted in that thread.

Thanks anyway. I know about this workaround, but it is a pretty lousy workaround, hence my question here.
You shouldn't need lgvid.ax anymore for Thief 2 if you install the NewDark unofficial patch, so I guess then you can unregister it so it doesn't affect Inquisitor anymore.
You can either do that manually or automatically through TafferPatcher (look for it on the TTLG forums).

Sweet! That's what I was hoping for :)

Thanks for the answer, Constance!
