I've seen a lot of forums saying to use tfix lite and some of those sources say that tfix lite is already included in the GOG install. Is tfix lite included? What is the recommended way to play?

yes, if you apply TFix lite to a cd install, you will get the GOG build, so if you don't care about mods and extra tweaks, you are good to go.

if you do, then go TFix full.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but i understand Tfix is up to 1.27. Does Gog have any plans to update their own installers with this new version?

ah yes, GOG is still on 1.26 - I wanted to patch both the TG and T2 builds at the same time, but there were still some issues with the MP exe I was hoping to resolve, so I've delayed the update. didn't quite manage though, so now I'm basically waiting and hoping for the next ND release - if that won't happen, I'll make do with what I currently have (no eta, but definitely sometime later this year).

anyway, it's not a big deal, 1.26 will still play the base game perfectly fine (mods may need 1.27, but if you want mods, you already have TFix, and that will get you 1.27).

Hi, if I understand correctly, T2fix is already included in the GOG version of Thief 2 (V 1.26 but you say it's ok right now) ? So, I don't need to download it directly from the TTLG site to start Thief 2, right ?

yeah, the GOG T2 build is also ready to go if you don't care about mods and extras, though I would recommend getting T2Fix full, the overhauled resources are a pretty nice thing to have.
