Hello!

I used to play Theme Hospital on my PC, and got pretty far into it, before downloading a copy for my Macbook.

Is there anyway to skip to later levels so I don't have to play through the game again? Or is it possible to transfer save files from my PC to my Mac?

Thanks!

Hopefully this works: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/198993-theme-hospital/cheats

Says you can click "C" on the level screen and then you can skip a level. Worth a shot.

Alternatively you can use the command prompt when starting the game, as described in that link too.

Copying save files depends on how/where the game was installed, and whether it was running with admin rights on the PC. I'm going to assume that you're running Windows 7, the exact version should be irrelevant.
If it was running with admin rights/was not in Program Files, go to the install directory (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Theme Hospital\), and copy the SAVE folder over to the same place on the Mac.
If it wasn't run with admin rights and was installed in Program Files, the save files will have been stored elsewhere. You'll need to have hidden files and folders visible to find it. It should be here, where *user* is your computer username:
C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Theme Hospital\SAVE.

That should hopefully restore all your progress on the Mac. If there are files in both of those folders, the VirtualStore one is the one you'll need, as the game runs with admin rights the first time so that it can set the graphics options.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the quick replies!

When it comes to transferring save files; I can easily find save files on my PC, but can't find where they're stored on my mac. This GOG support page http://tinyurl.com/bnjkyqp mentions Library/Application Support/Boxer/Gamebox States, but there is no trace of a Boxer folder on my Mac.

Also, changing the command line prompt could work - but would anyone be able to clearly detail how to do that on a Mac?

It's been a while since I've actually used a Mac so I'm not entirely sure of the specifics, or if the Mac version runs any differently/is stored any differently to the Windows one.
First off -- are you typing the path into the terminal like the help page suggests, or trying to browse to it?
As for the command line prompt - on the Windows version at least there is a file in the installation folder, called "dosboxTH.conf". Down at the bottom of this file are the lines:
c:
cls
HOSPITAL.EXE
exit

To add a command switch to that, just stick it on the end of the line reading HOSPITAL.EXE.
This CONF file (or something similar) might be inside the application package on a Mac, like I say I'm not entirely sure.
