Hi, i just bought The Witcher 3 yesterday, and i really love it. i spent about 4 hours playing it as soon as it was done installing. however, when i tried to save the game using the save menu, nothing happened. i clicked on the manual save slot, and the game exited out of the save menu. i then tried just pressing 'E' as the game suggests in the bottom right hand corner, and the same thing happened. i tried running the game in administrator mode, and still the same thing happened.

I'm also getting an error that says something along the lines of, "saves made using this version of the game will be incompatible with previous versions." this doesnt seem extremely relevant to my specific issue, but i feel like its worth including.

Saves have been bugged one way or the other for a while.

The error you got is extremely relevant. It means that your save is from a later version than the installed game. You need to update the game; DLC package, and expansions to their latest versions. If you use Galaxy - do a Verify/Repair. If you loaded manually - download and install the latest versions from your GOG account.

The game will recognize and load a save made with an earlier version of the game, but will not load a save made with a later version.
