Is it possible to uninstall GOG galaxy without losing my progress or uninstalling the game? I don't really care about achievements and it'd be great to able to run the game without having to launch another program. I installed via the Witcher 3 Complete retail DVD version.

Frankly I do not know and I do not have the retail DVD version. However you can play the download version of the TW3 without the Galaxy client, so I’d guess that you can indeed uninstall Galaxy. You can also start the game directly via the .exe file if you like. It’s in: “YourWitcher3InstallationFolder\bin\x64\witcher3.exe”. Galaxy won’t start then.

Your savegames are in “%userprofile%\Documents\The Witcher 3” in case you want to backup them. They should be independent of Galaxy too.

Good answer. It helped me, today. I could not find my save files, late last night. Restarting with a diff dialogue progression, and did not wanna lose my good align, Geralt, lv24 files. So they reside in docs outside the game folder. Aha!
