I just updated the game and now the game does not seem to recognise my save games. They are still present in my documents folder but when i run the game i can only start a new game. The game worked fine yesterday before i patched it. Is this phenomenon unique to me or have others encountered it? In any case some advice on how to proceed would be great i have put in over 30 hours so far and the thought of starting again is horrifying.

Maybe this time the patch has something written into it to not recognize previous
version saves.Which is unusual and usually stated in patch or DLC updates.
They were back playing compatible,it looks like you may not have a choice.

Thanks for the reply but I found the solution and not surprisingly its something on my end. I use symbolic links for my document folder and for some reason pitcher 3 no longer wanted to follow it to its save games, It wasn't the only game that developed the same problem last night. i am not sure why this became a problem last night but was fine before but i have abandoned the symlink for now and everything is resolved.

Case closed.

Okay,so it was internal problem.That's another reason to keep a trim PC:-)
