Downloaded physical copy from discs onto my brother's laptop. It was a gift. Had him download GOG galaxy to patch the game, but it doesn't patch. I clicked on each of the 4 steps of patches on GOG galaxy and downloaded them, but when the game is launched it still says 'v1.02'. How can I get the game to patch?

Sidenote rant. I purchased a digital copy at launch for myself and I had decided not to patch that copy for a long time. I didn't have galaxy at the time. When I finally did decide to patch the game up to v1.11 it was such a pain in the ass. I ended up downloading galaxy, because I thought the process would be automatic and easy, but that was not the case. I had to uninstall the entire game, redownload it AFTER downloading galaxy, for galaxy to update and patch the game. I had the same exact file locations for witcher 3 before and after GOG galaxy download and redownload of witcher 3, so I didn't understand the fuss to begin with. My copy is up-to-date, but it seems waaaaaay difficult to get this game patched.

I had the same problem and I think I just figured it out.

In your physical copy, look in the game manual. on the back of it there is a code. Put that code into your GOG launcher thing.

Things will start happening/downloading/etc
