So I was playing the Witcher 3 today, playing the new expansion Blood and Wine. I have successfully done all the updates and there were no errors with my system. I have the game on GOG galaxy client. I had exited the game to take a break. When I came back and fired up GOG the client froze. I got the circle icon thingy that went around and around and around as if it was still working but it wasn't. I got impatient and forced the client to exit. When I clicked on my shortcut it said "How would you like to open this file?" and gave me some paint and image formats, etc. I was really confused and worried. I went into the game's directory and it doesn't exist!!! I loaded up the GOG client and it worked this time but my game library was empty!! The game wasn't installed even though I was just playing and hadn't deleted or uninstalled anything. Thankfully all my saves are still there and I really hope they work. I just finished the main quest and do not want to start again and want to play the expansions. I have some mods installed. Maybe there was a conflict? Only mod that was working after the Blood and Wine DLC/patches installed was the carryweight mod. All the rest were broken so I disabled them. I am really annoyed and wondered what the heck happened? Do you guys have any idea?

Many thanks in advance!!
Just a reminder: Galaxy is still in beta, so random issues like this are to be expected. If you don't want those, then don't use a nonfunctional client to begin with.

I'd recommend using the standalone installers from the webpage. That's all I have to say in this case.

I was playing the expansion, got to a saving point then saved shut down the game and after I rebooted my system, GoG is now downloading the 38G game.. I really wanted to play tonight.. oh well, I will play something on Steam

Found a solution to my problem. Click the GoGCom icon above your install game list and goto Scan and Import folders.. just browse to GoG games and find Witcher 3 folder.. you are golden after that

best advice - galaxy will just junk everything without a notice once you click the wrong checkbox ^^ or install stuff you dont need just to bother you
