So ... I bought and installed TW3 through Steam and sat down for an afternoon of fun and excitement. The first quest after leaving the training area, "Lilac and Gooseberries", has me stumble upon a fellow trapped under a wagon as a gryphon is eating his horse. The cut scene has Gerault run in and cut the gryphon as it flies off. The gryphon then swoops down at Vesemir and the game crashes all the way out to the desktop. It does this ever single time.

The game seems extremely buggy and unpolished for something that has now gone to mass release. I would say at this point that the game wasn't worth $60.

Is anyone else having this issue or one very much like it?

Thanks guys!!

I didn't had any problem.
But u can try multiple things to see if they solve it even temporarily :
* Try reducing graphics and see if it works
* Try to skip the cutscene altogether by pressing space a lot of times
* Try playing in windowed mode, its in the options

EDIT: game doesnt cost 60$

Im having this exact problem and I have no idea how to fix it. Did you find a solution at all?
Maybe pressing esc a few quick times, will help and it will skip to next scene.
With all the patches, the success of these settings might be obsolete now, but I'll mention them since they are so easy to try. During patch 1.02 I was getting crashes occasionally in the world, and frequent crashes during cut scenes and in the inventory. Switching from windowed mode to full screen fixed the occasional world crashes, and turning off controller vibration fixed the inventory crashing. I'm not sure which one fixed cut scene crashing, but that went away too.

Bigoaf:
Have you tried disabling Hairworks and setting to Fullscreen instead of Borderless Window? For some reason the game defaults to Borderless Window and this can cause all sorts of issues.
