olnorton: Is your 1.5TB of free space on your C: drive?
The installation & setup files use your temp directory, which by default is on C:
If your C:\ drive has little free space, that might be the problem.
Game is installed on C: drive, under Program Files (x86). Installed using the hard copy from the CD, which automatically installs the GOG client. Like I said, the first time I installed the game there were absolutely no problems; issue started after I uninstalled the DLC's.

kourgath223: In my case I was able to fix this issue by going to the folder that I was installing the game(s) to and changing the Security settings and giving the Users group full control and so far it seems to be working.
Yep, that is working for me, thanks ;)

(i changed the user authorisations for the folders "GOG Games", "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt" and all the files inside it)
Zainstaluj GOG Galaxy ---> witcher wild hunt --->More--->Configure----->Get backup & extras.
wybierz i zainstaluje co Ci sie podoba.
Miłego.

"Zainstaluj" = Install

"wybierz i zainstaluj co CI sie podoba" - choose and install whatever u like

"Miłego" - "nice" ( from " have a nice day" )

Had the same problem until I assigned installation path to disc C. Seems like GOG likes nothing else but

Narcasse: .... I tried what you said: uninstalled the game via Galaxy, closed Galaxy reopened and tried to install.. no luck. Even uninstalled, reinstalled Galaxy didnt fix the problem.

It does seem like Galaxy is wanting to install everything on C: drive by default even though i changed it in the settings plus installed Galaxy on my other drive. Frustrating!
Good hint.
it has worked - Game is installing now.
Thank you
Hello guys, I had the same problem and fixed it by going in to settings and changing install location there. "Flies away"
Just had a similar thing here, even though I selected install this game to another drive, other than c:\, it seemed to ignore that and attempt to install to c:\ anyway. I only managed to "reset" things by hitting the uninstall option, changing the global preferences to install to my normal games drive H:\ and then installing the game again.

I didn't run a trace or process explorer at the time but I suspect it was trying to install to C:\ as that drive has less space than the game requires even though I had chosen to install to my H:\ drive.
I had the same problem with a different game, C:/ is my OS disk with very little space. Changing installation disk through the install menu doesn't seem to do anything. Went to settings as suggested above (ty ^^) and changed it to D:/, works perfect now.
