Hello all.
Witcher 3 has been the perfect game. Best ever. No issues until 3 days ago.
I last played with 1.22 patch on August 4th. Did some quests, crafted some stuff, then stopped. All jolly and good in the world of Geralt and friends.
I tried playing again on August 17. Patch 1.24. All of the sudden, bam, no controller support. No rhyme or reason to it. All my other games still working with my Xbox One and 360 controller. Even emulators. Can even play Witcher 3 with Xpadder after the convoluted process of mapping everything out with it, plus I don't get the benefit of the native support which includes rumble feedback for finding things in Witcher search mode and such.
So...what gives? Why is this apparently only happening to me. Things I have tried:
Windows 10 Home/64-bit/Anniversary Upgrade
1. Rolling back to 1.22. Didn't work. Still no controller support.
2. Removing controller in control panel, unplugging from USB port, plugging intro a different USB port. Letting Windows find it. Still no controller support.
3. Using a different Xbox 360 controller. Still no controller support.
4. Going into the Witcher 3 folder and deleting all .ini files. Still no controller support.
5. Uninstalling game and re-downloading the whole 42GB shebang all over. Still no controller support.
I am pretty tech savvy and usually don't need to ask help on PC issues from anyone, plus, google usually has all the answers, but I am at a loss here. I don't know what to do. "[SPACE] to skip" is all I ever see upon loading game, never the "X(button) to skip" I am so accustomed to. I just don't know what to do.
