Hello,

I bought The Witcher 3 yesterday, I installed it through GOG Galaxy 1.1.5 (beta) on W10 64bits. When I click on "Play" a black screen appears and disappear. Here are the logs.

Based on player contributions I read on this forum / internet I already tried to disable overlay, remove galaxy.dll and so on...
I also tried to downgrade to 1.10 patch version...here I don't get any log file but the game doesn't start as well...a 500 mb thread is there in the task manager but nothing happens.

For information here is my configuration:
- Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. MAXIMUS VII RANGER (SOCKET 1150) -> BIOS up to date
- Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz
- RAM: 12,0 Go Canal-Double DDR3 @ 667 MHz (9-9-9-24)
- Sapphire VaporX HD4890 PCI Express 16x 2.0 -> Driver Catalyst 13.4

Do you have any idea ? My GPU may be the culprit ?

You should post this error message in CDPR's forum. However, they will point out the fact that the minimum gpu is a 7870 (although a friend of mine runs it on a 6870).
It could be a driver issue, but afaik the 4xxx series is not supported anymore. In any way, if you do not wan to buy a new gfx card you should wait for 1.12. Maybe it fixes your problem.
Does that GPU support DirectX 11? It is needed for The Witcher 3.
Thank you both for your feedback...my GPU only supports Direct X 10, it's time to change ma graphic card :)

Geez guy. didn't you read up on the game's minimum requirements? 4890 isn't near enough horsepower for the game--it's a d3d11 game. Your errors are rendering errors because your installed GPU drivers don't know what to make pf the game code.

Here are the game minimums for you:

Intel i5-2500K 3.3GHz
AMD Phenom II X4 940
GeForce GTX 660
Radeon HD 7870
RAM 6GB
64-bit Win 7/Win 8(8.1)
DX11
HDD 40 GB

Your GPU seems way behind the rest of your system. If you like games, always upgrade the GPU then the ram and then the cpu, and afterwards drives--if you are upgrading a component at a time. Suggest a minimum upgrade of R9 380 4GB--for ~$200. You'd actually have a decent gaming system with that one addition. I recommend it because I've been running W3 on my R9 380 4GB for months on Win10x64 and have had no problems with the game at all--runnon ultra settings, hair settings, etc.
Hi Waltc,

You know I became more than a casual gamer and I was probably a bit too naive this time :D
Anyway my new GPU should arrive today: KFA2 GeForce GTX 970 EXOC Black Edition, 4 Go

My machine will be more coherent like that.

Thanks for your advice :)

Manu
The game is working perfectly with the GTX970 :)
