I have an i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz, geforce 840m but 4 gb ram. The game crashes to desktop instanly after i get in the first part of game (turorial) I read on steam forums that guys with lower specs and 4gb ram (even that 6gb was shown as minimum) was able to easily run the game. I also tried everything under gog topic "crash to desktop" but nothing worked. It's been 10 days i bought the game but couldnt even pass the first tutorial part. İ'll be really glad if someone can help me solve the problem. Thanks in advance.

I think your problem is the CPU, is really not enough to run The Witcher 3 that requests a minimun of 3.3 GHz to run (even though it runs on my father's desktop pc with 3.2 GHz, but it also has 16gb RAM and a GeForce GTX 660).
But let me remind that my processor is i7, so clock speed shouldnt be a problem.
Shut down every proces that is not needed and try to run the game then. Close every internet window too it seems to crash the game too.
Maybe different vid drivers.
Run the game exe as admin
Not sure about this bout i read somewere connected xbox350 controllers might crash the game too (unconfirmed).
Reinstall the game, dont forget to backup your savegames becouse t hey get deleted too.

Maybe your amount of ram is to low.

The game runs fine on my pc wich is brutally outdated lol (quad core 2.66 with a radeon hd 7500 something, 64 bit os and 7 gb ram).
I do crash but i can play for long amounts of time (couple of hours usually). FPS range from 40 to 60.
At one point the game became really unstable for me but i think something fucked it up (patchers, edited user files etc). So i reinstalled it and it runs fine again.

4GB of ram is not enough, you will need 8GB.
2.40GHz,could be a problem also.

Edit:I think that information(under) is a little bit false:
I read on steam forums that guys with lower specs and 4gb ram (even that 6gb was shown as minimum) was able to easily run the game.

Thanks for the help guys , @Aurazee7004 i tried that also but still crashes, @gunsynd , but mine is a new i7 computer, how come an old computer with i5 can run the game while mine cant. And i asked the guys on steam forum and saw that more than one person runs the game on 4gb ram. Buying ram is not a problem but i guess there is another problem.
Thanks to gog support i found solution, i only updated my geforce video card but also onboard graphics card should be updated, that was the point i missed. Game still crashes time to time but better than nothing.
