gsuskrice: Optionally; has anyone found a solution as to how to maybe liberate the game from the gog client and make it it's own separate install that can be launched outside of GOG?

Thanks again!
But it can be launched outside client without any additional work. Just run the game .exe directly

The shortcut on your desktop leads to the game in Galaxy Client, but you can easily make your own that points directly to the {game_folder}\bin\x64\witcher3.exe

the .ini file, if found outside game folder (and user settings are in Documents\ The Witcher 3, I think) should in no way be overwritten. Are you certain no other application (like GF Experience) interferes?
Wouldn't V-Sync be responsilble for that FPS limit?
