Define mid-game? Is this on actual combat? I haven't tried it myself (actual combat) but you can change it anytime when you are playing the game.

Yes, but you won't get credit for beating the game on a difficulty unless you played it that way or higher the whole time. I'm speaking of the Galaxy achievements.

thelostdunmer: Define mid-game? Is this on actual combat? I haven't tried it myself (actual combat) but you can change it anytime when you are playing the game.
With 1/2 patch and both expansions I don't see a difficulty change option anymore.
