JohnJSal: I just got a free upgrade to the Special Edition because I own all the other stuff, but is there any difference in this and the base game plus DLC? Any reason to install this version? (I don't have any version installed right now.)

No, there isn't anything different. If you already have the base game, the free and paid DLC, and patched to its latest version, then it's the same thing the GOTY installs. There isn't anything different in the GOTY version aside from being able to install everything at once, so if you haven't installed the Witcher 3 yet you might as well install the GOTY since it'll be easier and quicker to bring it to its final state.
