Been playing this game for a few months now. At the moment, I'm level 19, closing on 20, so here's my questions.
1)
How exactly do I start "Gwent: Old Pals"? I'm about to finish the questline to rescue Dandelion. I have yet to have that start. Other than that, I still have to start the Gwent chain involving Skellige or do High Stakes, but I'm figuring that's best done after all the other Gwent quests are done.
2) When it comes to character perks, I primarily have sword-based perks, namely fast attack options. My secondary focus is on alchemy perks, so far Frenzy and Acquired Tolerance. I'm aiming to possibly go with the first one involving bombs but not sure what else. Other than those, I have all 3 points in that first Axii skill (What's it called? Delusion? Delirium?) and the one point in Cat School for light armor and fast attack usage. So maybe Steady Aim, a few other alchemy perks, and fast attack perks as I said before?
2) Among one of the fast attack perks I've gotten so far is Whirl, which requires Adrenaline. I tend to build that easily, but the description makes it sound like it actually consumes Adrenaline to use yet it appears to consume Stamina when I use it. Am I reading the description wrong or is that a bug?
3) I have yet to get the 2 major DLC ("Hearts of Stone" and "Blood and Wine"). I swear I read there's an alchemical formula in the latter to change the generic Mutagen into other colors. I have TONS of Green Mutagen and a good amount of Blue but almost no Red. I need Red for various purposes, namely alchemical decoctions. Will I definitely get that formula easily if I get "Blood and Wine"?
4) If I do go with Cat School-style combat, which swords (steel and silver) and armor is most advised? I was under the impression the highest upgrade of said school (at least the armor) is recommended, but reading all the descriptions online and wading through website content is awfully confusing, ESPECIALLY since my time to read stuff is limited (THANKS A LOT, COVID-19!!!). Any suggestions, kept concise, preferably? Remember, I don't have the 2 DLC yet.
Thanks in advance. :)
