when running a game FPS drops is really annoying, it makes the game seem stuttery and I becomes a real pain to play.

I know ofc that 60 fps looks better, so this I probably a post for people who does not have a super pc.

I myself have a sorta mid range pc( gtx960 - i52500 - 8g ram)

I can run the can decently at 60 fps with a mix of high medium settings. However I still get a few Fps drops in Novigrad.

So what happens if you lock the game to 30 fps?

I tried this and I make my gameplay seem more smooth over all. I turned everything up to ultra, and added all post processing option.(even hairworks) and my FPS never drops below 29-30.

so the game actualy feels smoother to play. because its the drops you notice the most.

So if you can live with a 30 fps rate you can make you game look amazing even on a mid range PC.

True! I did this since release, because i have to play on a laptop!

Same for me.

Playing with most options at high with a cap on 30 FPS.
Feels a million times more smooth with an FPS at constant 30 rather than an FPS between 30 and 50.

I locked my game at 30fps on ultra at 3440x1440 (ultrawide) and it's perfectly smooth. Never dips below 30. Sure I'd prefer 60+ but having a steady framerate is better imho.
