A few questions about potions, alchemy tree etc:

1, what do those marks on the toxicity bars mean? (green and orange)

2, what are the effects of the different toxicity levels?

3, any way to be able to drink more potions without getting negative efects (if there is any)

4, what is "poisoned" condition for the alchemy tree? any level of toxicity?

I was hoping someone would have answered this...I'd like to know too

Strikes me as the sort of thing that should be in the manual

Maybe I'll take a peek
completely same questions here!
I've gone for alchemy tree and am in second chapter, but still can't answer your questions at all.
I didn't take time to test the minimum, but I know that as long as toxicity is over the orange line the adrenaline mechanic works. So, I assume that is the point for other effects that require "poisoned" status.

I would call the orange line "90." So 95-100 is "poisoned."

1&2. Marks on the tox bar are levels of poison to the character. Only thing I've noticed so far is that when you reach the second mark on the tox bar your gameplay vision is altered. My screen gives me green, wavy lines that obscure parts of the screen. That said I've not actually opened my stats page to check before and after numbers on the different tox levels.

3. Yes and No you can drink more potions with Alchemy tech tree once you unlock the ability but I believe that you cannot reduce the tox of potions. Unless your referring to the -% that some potions cause then yes, you reduce those by half, again by unlocking the Alchemy ability.

4. Lastly I'm pretty sure the poisoned condition equates to being above the last mark in the tox bar but it may mean when you are poisoned from Rotfiends or something.

I've read elsewhere that, for #4, "poisoned" means simply being intoxicated - that is, having drank at least one potion. I haven't tested this for myself.
You guys are gonna make me dig out my old saves, aren't ya? :P

You are correct. Tested and confirmed.

One potion of 25 toxicity is enough to generate adrenaline passively when in combat.

As long as all the other abilities that require the poisoned state recognize 25 as such...that is a little harder to check. Fair assumption to make, though.

(Because I had the Catalysis ability, I was just always at 95 from using more powerful pots that had side effects. I just never checked. Leaves me wondering why the green and orange marks are even there.)

Thx,
Now can someone check on the character screen if there are any negative effect of toxicity? (besides the blurred vision above the orange mark). I know there is an animation about Geralt sweating if we go over the green mark (and we don't get it anymore once we get the strong stomach perk, which I don't know what does exactly)
I played my 1st playthrough going full Alchemy spec.

There's no side effect for being intoxicated even with 100 intoxication except for the blurred vision (the same Geralt gets when using the Berserk ability).
i think the alchemy tree a little F**ed up, lots of stuff was cut out, like overdose -
when you overdosed you supposed to be poisoned witch give you various effects.
Now you can`t exceed max toxicity level
Now it is no longer relevant :-(

On my fourth Geralt now. The only one who ever got blurred/green vision was Alchemist Geralt in Berserker Mode.

I don't write that to dispute you. Makes sense that there would be an effect when poisoned. There was in the original game. You are not the only person to mention that. You are talking about getting the green ripples, right? Only Berserk Mode has that effect on my install. Weird.

i'd try an alchemy build for my current insane game, my biggest problem with it that i know there will be situations where i can not be "poisoned" because there won't be an opportunity to drink potion before the fight starts.
Hmmm, I dont ever remember seeing any "blurry" or "green" vision on my last playthrough. I regularly had full toxicity too when I drank 3 potions.

You know, maybe you're right, since I only got once my toxicity over the last bar (between 90 and 100 iirc) and prolly I'm remembering the whole thing wrong.

I'm pretty sure though that Toxicity in TW2 is just meant to put a cap in regards of how many potions you can drink (apart from the 3-4 with Taster one).

BTW, Berserk is bugged, cause when the Berserk effect wears off, the green ripples stay.
