How the hell can I download a polish voiceover to the Witcher 2, if the download falls into an endless loop? And all this AFTER installing the patch, which itself had had to repair the errors associated with the DLC ...

I am heartily sick of this damn game - is one big, endless band of bugs and problems. A good scenario is not worth the constant struggle for the opportunity to run the game.

Did you already have Polish voiceover installed pre-patch? I did, but it'll show up as not installed after the patch, in which case you ignore it, because you already have it.

Otherwise, don't know what to tell you.

Have you tried deleting the file the game has downloaded?

there should be one file at My Documents\Witcher 2\Downloads\pl0.w2speech

and there might be another in your install directory
The Witcher 2\CookedPC\pl0.w2speech

Trying moving them somewhere else, and maybe the dlc loop will stop

I did a complete reinstallation of the game, with complete removal of all folders, except for savegames. Download folder - cleared.
No effect.

You still didn't answer the question. If you ever had the Polish voiceovers installed before, it's possible the registry setting still says it's installed, since the behavior you are describing is the exact behavior all the people who thought they had to install the English voiceovers (despite them already being installed) were having.

In which case a registry edit would fix it.
Yes, I had it installed before, but I cleaned registry entries - with no effect.
1) Let the launcher download the voice-over pack.
2) When the launcher tries to verify the downloaded pack, close the launcher.
3) Now the downloaded pl0.w2speech file should be in your \My Documents\Witcher 2\Downloaded\ folder. Copy that file to \The Witcher 2\CookedPC\ folder (where the en0.w2speech file is for those with english voice-overs installed).
4) Choose polish voice-overs from the configurator.

This worked for me and I can't see why there should be any problems. It's not as if the verifying of the voice-over pack is absolutely necessary, but what do I know...
A good solution, but in the meantime Launcher correctly retrieved the needed files. :)
