Hi,

I purchased this game few days ago and started to play it today. The game is awesome.
Only thing is that when I play for more than some minutes and get rid of the headphones, I hear an internal high sound coming from the computer.

The graphic card is an NVIDIA GTX980, living with an i7 4,4ghz if im not wrong and 32 gb ram. The graphics are set at maximum. (but still seeing some fps down, in the part of the battle at the castle when the archers shot fire arrows and u have to go to capture some kind of war artifact protected by some crossbowmans and a guy with a large shield).

Any of you could put some light on this?

Thanks!
The sound could be capacitor squeal, coming from your graphics card.
If you turn down the graphics settings & put less load on the card, does the sound go away?
If so I would get a replacement card.
I'll try, but a replacement card it's maybe too much. Is brand new with 3 months of usage. It also happens with games like FarCry4, the ones that require a high card, but let's see.

Thanks for your answer

You can still RMA a card after 3 months.

Do you have VSync turned on? Such a noise is usually produced at high frames, my GTX 760 does it too and I've had the card for over a year now. The squeal isn't harmful in itself but having a frame rate over your monitor's refresh rate is a waste of power and it generates more heat for nothing.

Not trying to scare you with this but RMA'ing the card may not resolve your issue entirely, you may get a card with lower noise or no noise at all. If it isn't too loud and the card is working fine I wouldn't change it.

PS: I also noticed your other thread regarding steam_api.dll, Since many games here are also on Steam they may carry some files from the Steam framework with them but it doesn't mean they won't run without Steam or anything, in other words the file is there but doesn't do anything.

Thanks for your answer. There are 2 kinds of noise. One is when you are playing for a while and the computer starts to sound higher, you can even hear it even wearing headphones, but nothing killer. The other one, depending on the games, in the main screen titles is like a whinning/buzzing noise that is more annoying, but only in the title screen or when loading. (Lego Marvel and Watch_Dogs).

Nice to know about the steam thing!

Thanks for your answer again.

Yeah, I get some coil whine from the game in certain situations. There is nothing wrong with coil whine apart from it being annoying. Many cards have this phenomenon so RMA'ing it may not make any difference.
I'm much more calmed with your answer guys, I was wondering if my 600 euro card was wrong... It has guarantee but it's always annoying to bring the computer to the store and all that jazz....

Anyway I have to look for any configuration because my graphics in ultra, even in high are having fps down, and I have a PC and a card that should handle this game without any trouble.

Thanks again !
