I have had no issues with the game sound or video up until Geralt has his first flashback to rivia where he died. When the flashback starts the sound becomes all choppy, the video has no slowdown and progresses normally. Once the flashback is over and I am back in the dungeon the sound goes back to normal. Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions. I can't use the support function of the official website it keeps giving me a 403 error when I try to submit a report.

I had this too, nothing like that has happened at any other point so far it's all been running smooth as silk on ultra-high settings (just finished the prologue) and my system spec is very different from yours (all AMD) so I don't think it's necessarily anything to do with your rig or drivers.

I'd just make a note and report it as a bug once the official site is back in action - that's what I intend to do :)

I also have Realtek High Def, and have the same problem so wouldn't be surprized if its the drivers since some other games have had problems with Realtek also.

Ok after having a fiddle I found that updating the Realtek HD Audio Drivers it wasn't so bad, but by pure accident I found that the sound worked perfectly fine when I changed the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1600x900. Try it and tell me if it works then if you ever encounter it again we at least know a basic fix for the problem.

Hi ravenmaster I too have realtek high definition audio

I'm having sound issues on my cutscenes, they end up be filled with static and everything seems choppy. After the cutscene the game goes back to normal.

I've restarted the game and it works just fine with the same cutscenes, but then after 30 minutes of play time the game starts to give me the cutscene audio issue again

I too am experiencing this issue.

The game runs wonderfully smoothly on my older GTX285 with ultra settings (without Ubersampling). However after upgrading to the beta Nvidia 275.27 drivers the audio skipping seems preavalent (wasn't happening at all on 270.61 and I've even rolled back to confirm this).

I have a theory that it is to do with the beta video driver rather than sound driver related as I'm using an X-Fi Elite with the latest drivers. But I've also managed to come up with a minor workaround based on another theory that concerns memory and lod streaming (streaming during conversation causes the stuttering):

Go into the advanced graphics options and set video memory to very large (will use 600mb so youll need a 1GB card) and set lod to very far. You won't notice any performance drop but when the stuttering starts it'll only last for about 3 seconds.

I hope it's something that Nvidia are aware of and will fix for the WHQL driver as the game is unplayable on 270.61.

Had the same, reduced sound acceleration in dxdiag - helped.

Unfortunately reducing sound acceleration in dxdiag is not an option for Win7 x32/x64 users.

Googled for a bit and depending on your soundcard and drivers you may still disable it. If nothing else helps, google it and try!

It happened on my first run through, and only on that Death in Rivia flashback.

Strangely enough, it didn't happen at all on my second.

I use a Creative XiFi, so doubt the soundcard is the issue.

My computer auto defrags at night, so it's possible that fixed it. I really have no idea. It's the only thing off the top of my head that might have changed between the two times I encountered the flashback.

Bump, having this problem too. ATI 5770, Win7 64, AMD Athlon X4 @ 2.9 ghz, using VIA HD Audio Deck on my Razer's Megalodon (wich are supposed to be driver free, but anyway).

Perhaps youd be kind enough to share the knowledge as even the technicians on the microsoft forums don't seem to be able to shed light on this issue as. Google doesn't help.

Same problem with Realtek HIgh Def audio.

I had choppy sound during all scripted scenes using the Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro. Nothing I did stopped it.

Chucked in my ASUS Xonar D1 and it plays fine...

I'm guessing Creative has issues in some setups...
