Followed the blood trai but can't find him. I've hit everyone and every place day and night. The journal says he went into the forest, but there's no marker of anykind, and it's a big forest. Running around for 2 days looking for 1 guy is not my idea of a fun game. I'm losing interest real fast.

Cat potion helps you follow the trail if you haven't tried that.

If you need a closer hint, he's on the left side of the lake under some roots/trees (when I say "left side" I mean it's left on the map). Just run around and a cut scene will start.

As you face the lake with the waterfall/cave in front of you, go right along the bank and edge. he is in a group of trees not far from there.

Remember where you met the elf girl that ambushed you? Just go to the right of there.

Plenty of helpful hints here.

You can use your medallion to light up the trail too. Stand on a patch, medallion, go to next etc.
