Hi there everybody.

First of all, I'm a die-hard fan of TW:EE.
I've always managed to circumvent many of its issues, even going as far as to restart a whole chapter just to get things done the best way I could.

From the usual CTDs [Crash-To-Desktop] up to NPC bugs stopping progress, I thought I went to everything, always finding some way to keep the gameplay on.

Recently I've found a strange game behaviour that puts my screen on black.
To be more precise, it's like it shuts down my PC, since the monitor's ON/OFF LED starts titillating.
You can still hear sounds, like it seems game is still running, but I cannot CTRL+ALT+Del / CTRL+SHIFT+Esc my way out of the game; I'm forced to reboot my PC.

I've done the verifying of files via GOG Galaxy [I'm playing on Steam].
I've set the Witcher.exe folder to defragment each time before playing.
I keep no more than 5 saves in the main folder and always defragmenting before and after playing
(take into account I play 16+ hours a day),
I've applied the 4gb patch,
I've updated every VCredist and re-checked my OS's .dll files,
I've tried to force V-sync, I've set compatibilities with both XP and Vista
(dunno why, but last time I've had performance issues, Vista compatibility fixed it better on my previous PC than XP SP3).
I've tried running on windowed mode, as unimmersive as this may be...

Still, this problem persists; In previous manifestations of this issue, it only happened when I was Poker Dice-ing.
Now in Chapter 3, it just happens, going as far as going Black screen even in the Opening video.

My specs are as follows:

AMD FX-8350
XFX R9 280X 3GB
16GB RAM 1033 DDR3
23" Samsung LED S23B350 connected via HDMI, on AV mode
(previous PC mode gave me a black screen anyways and this one feels better)
Running on Windows 7 X64 without any OC done.

I've started again the game to make a full Polish Path on this and the following titles in order to start a proper NG+ on Witcher 3 (450 hours and counting), but it's the first time I've found such a huge handicap in playing. You know how annoying is to force a hard reset on one's rig... could be the only major issue that is making me consider to leave the game and move onto something else.
However if you put in my shoes for a second, you know how disappointing that could be.

Of course there are thousands of games!
But isn't there a way to let me enjoy this title...?
Would Steam Overlay be the culprit of these issues?
Should GOG Galaxy implement a Screenshot function so I can play the games without even opening Steam?

Ay help will be much appreciated.
I love this game and I don't wanna stop playing it, but I don't want to break everything else on the computer to break just because of this issue. Thank you very much!
